Alex is the CEO of VetPrep Australia, a specialist RTO Compliance Rectification consultancy with a stellar reputation for developing rectification and business continuity strategies for RTOs facing regulatory sanctions and/or cancellation. Before entering the VET sector, Alex spent almost two decades managing international and domestic companies in Africa, Asia and Australia.
With degrees in Law, Economics, International Management, Business and with a number of VET qualifications, Alex works with the VetPrep team in helping RTOs save their registrations and survive ASQA sanctions through specialist Sanction Management and Business Continuity methodologies and practices.
Carl Mocnik is an experienced Registered Training Organisation (RTO) owner, course developer and a compliance consultant to RTOs and Universities.
Carl is also the founder and managing director of Plenty Training (www.plenty.edu.au) – a successful private RTO and one of only a handful that have the full suite of TAE (Training and Education) qualifications on scope – and of Pay It Forward Scholarships.
A former naval officer, Carl commenced in the vocational education sector in the 1990s when he managed several of the Technical Training Centre schools at HMAS CERBERUS, and was involved in the Royal Australian Navy’s transition from its legacy based technical training system to the national vocational education system.
After leaving the navy, Carl was based in California’s Silicon Valley, managing several international projects, before returning to Australia in the early 2000s and starting Plenty Training.
Carl has post graduate engineering qualifications and diplomas in training and education, business and leadership, WHS and project management.
Lauren is the Founder and CEO of Understand TAE and she has spent the last 10 years working with companies to help them grow, diversify, increase staff capacity and build quality, engagement and leverage in increasingly complicated markets.
Lauren’s specialties include trainer & assessor development, business coaching, benchmarking, assessment & training resource development, team development, management, business improvement, auditing, social media & marketing management and student engagement.
Peter Doukas owns and operates the Sydney law firm
Working in the field of Education Law and Corporate Governance since 2007, Peter has acted for over fifty Registered Training Organisations in various stages of the RTO management cycle. He routinely acts for colleges in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and provides extensive advice to Registered Training Organisations, Universities and Educational Conglomerates. His professional practice also includes providing legal and governance advice to listed and unlisted company boards.
Peter is also Senior Deputy Chair of the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA), a position he was elected to in 2017. Before that date, Peter was the Chair of the Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW; serving between 2013 and 2017. Additionally, he works in the multicultural space by providing pro- bono legal assistance to new and emerging communities, particularly in the establishment of associations and governance structures within NSW.
Peter currently serves on the Boards of Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) (elected to Senior Deputy Chair in 2017) and Justice Multicultural Advisory Council (NSW Government Board)
Raelene is the Founding Director of RTO Doctor, a nationally recognised specialist Compliance Consulting company operating in the VET/CRICOS space since 2011.
Raelene has over 20 years’ experience in the education and training space ranging from a variety of roles within RTOs, as a Regulator and as a Consultant. Raelene’s qualifications include undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Education, Auditing, Migration Law, Research and she is currently completing a law degree. She also published the top-selling book CRICOS CPR: Top 5 Tips to rescue Your RTO in 2018. Raelene is recognised around the country for her ability to support providers with forensic audits, rectification, sanction management and Tribunal matters.
